Once
a delivery has been made can anyone else get access to it?
NO, only the owner of the box can unlock the box
once a delivery has been made.
Can the box accept multiple
deliveries?
YES, if the parcels are delivered at the same time.
If one delivery is made after another then the second delivery cannot
be made as the box is already locked. The second delivery can be made
the following day where there is is a high probability that it will
be successful. If multiple deliveries at different times are a common
occurrence then having two boxes could be the best solution.
How does the carrier know
which box to deliver to?
Each 24-7 box has a unique serial number which
is displayed when the box is opened. When you arrange a delivery you
would like left in the box just add this number to your address.
How does the carrier know
that the box is working before making a delivery?
The 24-7 Box is continuously monitoring all its
sensors, if there is any problem including a low battery violate this
will be displayed on the screen.
Can a second carrier see
the code from the first delivery and use this without making a delivery?
NO, 3 minutes after the code is displayed, following
the box being locked, it is cleared from the screen. The code can only
be displayed again by unlocking the outer lid, which only the owner
of the box can do.
What if the carrier makes
up the delivery code and does not make the delivery?
If a dispute arises the owner of the box asks the
carrier company to check the delivery code on the 24-7 Box database.
If the code was made up the database will show the code as being invalid
and the dispute can then be resolved as the carrier does not have proof
of delivery.
What if the carrier does
not make the delivery and re-uses a code they got when making a previous
delivery to the same address?
Part of the encrypted delivery code contains a
time and date stamp. If a dispute arises the owner of the box asks the
carrier company the check the code on the 24-7 Box database. when the
delivery code and the date and time of delivery is entered the database
will show the code as being invalid. The dispute can then be resolved
as the carrier does not have proof of delivery.
Can the carrier work out
which part of the code is the time stamp and which part is the box serial
number and then make up a valid delivery code?
NO, the three part delivery code is encrypted using
128 bit encryption, the only way the decrypt the delivery code is through
the 24-7 Box secure database.
What if I am not happy
with the delivery?
DO NOT OPEN THE INNER LID, Contact the carrier
to resolve the dispute. You can prove to the carrier that you have not
gained access to the delivery as the delivery code displayed on the
box is the same code they recorded when they made the delivery.
What if the packaging
of the delivery is damaged?
DO NOT OPEN THE INNER LID, Contact the carrier
to resolve the dispute. You can prove to the carrier that you have not
gained access to the delivery as the delivery code displayed on the
box is the same code they recorded when they made the delivery.
What if the carrier locks
the box and obtains a valid delivery code but does not put the delivery
in the box?
DO NOT OPEN THE INNER LID, Contact the carrier
to resolve the dispute. You can prove to the carrier that you have not
gained access to the delivery as the delivery code displayed on the
box is the same code they recorded.
What if the carrier locks
the box and obtains a valid delivery code but does not put the delivery
in the box or put a slip through the door?
DO NOT OPEN THE INNER LID, Contact the supplier
of the item you were expecting and ask for the name of the carrier they
used. Contact the carrier to resolve the dispute. If you are unable
to track down the carrier who locked your 24-7 Box you can take a photo
of the empty box with the delivery code displayed or you can ask a neighbour
to witness the empty box with the delivery code displayed for future
refference. You can prove to the carrier that you have not gained access
to the delivery as the delivery code displayed on the box is the same
code they recorded.
What if the owner of
the box removes the delivery then re-locks the box and claims a delivery
was never made?
The carrier can prove that the owner has removed
the delivery as the delivery code is different from the code they obtained
when they made the delivery.
What if the owner of
the box tampers with the hardware or electronics so that they can remove
the contents without the code being cleared or so that the box always
generates the same code?
The 24-7 Box is designed in such a way that it
would be obvious to the carrier if the box hardware or electronics had
been tampered with and they can choose not to make the delivery. There
is also the backup of the 24-7 Box database which will display to the
carrier how many times there has been a dispute with a particular box
when they check a delivery code. If a particular box has had a number
of disputes the carrier can ask the Police to investigate.
